In 1582, the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] member and samurai [[Yasuke]] ventured to the shrine after hearing of one of his mentor [[Kamiizumi Nobutsuna]]'s students being nearby. Near the shrine, he found [[Tomita Nobutaka]] injured and aided him back on his feet. Nobutaka admitted that the ''{{Wiki|onna-musha}}'' bested him with her ''[[naginata]]''. Meeting her, Yasuke introduced himself while the woman introduced herself as [[Yuki no Kata]] and stated that she searched for him. After discussing their goals, they both agreed to a fight with their ''naginatas''. After a lengthy duel, Yasuke bested her while she thanked him for the duel and gifted him a ''naginata'' [[Celestial Blade]].<ref name="Nobutsuna Students">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Nobutsuna's Students]]</ref>
