Upon her investigation, Tsuyu came across the operation and discovered Balthazar, the Templar who had enslaved her when she was younger, was in charge of the operation. However, while hidden, Tsuyu was ambushed and [[poison]]ed with a paralytic agent. Immobilized, Tsuyu was forcibly [[Interrogation|interrogated]] about the [[Imperial Regalia of Japan|Imperial Regalia]] and the ''shinobi'' in Iga but she remained silent. Before he could kill her,<ref name="Ch20"/> Masayasu intervened and killed Balthazar's guards. Fighting each other, Masayasu narrowly beat Balthazar and ultimately killed him.
