In 1582, Hiromichi had built a reputation as one of the most wealthiest and resourceful merchants in Harima. Although he had a working relationship with the [[Bessho clan]] retainer [[Bessho Harumasa]],<ref name="DB">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Database: Hiromichi]]</ref> he had grown disdain for Harumasa's speeches.
