			==Behind the scenes==
			Because of the heavy river defenses, the player must disembark to destroy two spiked chains along the unidirectional River Rhine, with no way to circumvent them, before every attempt at the Champion. He is found in the exact same church as the previous [[The Ulfberht Sword\|champion]] who held the [[Ulfberht Sword (weapon)\|Ulfberht Sword]], albeit on the second floor above a drop-down ladder. However, it is possible to retreat downstairs and break line of sight. If he follows down the ladder, he may have difficulty passing into the church's nave, forcing him to remain at range and use throwing axes.

			Interestingly, the previous champion's corpse remains inside the church from the previous battle.

			Upon killing the champion and returning to Ravensthorpe to bank the acquired loot, the river will reset to low river defenses, even though the internal alert was raised to maximum from attacking a monastery.
