After years of attacks on [[Monteriggioni]] by the troublesome Pazzi, [[Mario Auditore]] led a counter-assault on San Gimignano, in the hope of finally eliminating the threat. As he spoke to his men in the surrounding hills, he was joined by his nephew, [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze|Ezio]].

With the young Florentine help the gates were raised, allowing Mario's patrol to infiltrate the [[Florence|Tuscan town]] and conquer their enemy. As the battle came to it's conclusion, Ezio located [[Vieri de' Pazzi|Vieri de Pazzi]], a [[Templar]], and assassinated him on the town walls.
