In the game, the Monger asks Kassandra if she would like to participate in the torture session. Kassandra can choose to torture Brison herself, convince the Monger to give him another chance or leave Brison for him to torture. Brison can't die, whatever the choice she makes. In the novel, Kassandra doesn't interfere in the session, so Brison dies on the Monger's hands.
