I actually don't think this is a bad idea. However, I think there might be cases where certain media overlap in their timelines. For example off the top of my head, ''Assassin's Creed'' the film and ''Assassin's Creed II: Discovery'' both are set in the Spanish Inquisition. This might be the only instance of it though now that I think of it.
