Páàjì titun

With the recent release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt I have been thinking a lot about the state Unity was in with all its surplus content.

Although I haven't played TW3, I have heard a lot about how its side content is all meaningful & worth engaging in despite the enormous amount in the game. I truely do hope that Syndicate takes this approach to heart & measures itself against TW3's success.

If AC continues along its path of repetition & bloated playtime, I wouldn't be surprised if I end up getting bored. And I know a lot of you will blame the yearly release cycle, but I don't think that's the real issue here; I think that is simply an excuse people make to criticise the franchise. I hear time and time again from haters about how this approach means that all AC games are shit & unchanged, yet there's clear evidence that this is not the case; Rogue & Black Flag are physical proof of this.

All AC needs is for Ubi to take risks. They have just as much time as any developer spends on a game, so there's no excuse. And yes, that is something I genuinely believe is the honest truth; I don't think Ubi are lying about the development time. Now, however, we are faced with the issue of people rejecting Unity for taking this risk & I worry that Ubi will just get lazy because that's how people want them to be, otherwise they hate them. The only hope with Syndicate is that the new developer isn't put off by this fact, as I bet Montreal sure as hell are.

Now, relating back to TW3, if CD Projekt Red were developing Syndicate under these exact same time constraints, I believe they could produce a game worthy of people's affection. You may disagree, but that's just what I feel.<ac_metadata title="The Witcher 3 & Syndicate"> </ac_metadata>
