			Although being born out of wedlock, Bernard was seen as a bastard and found himself raised away from King Charles, under the wing of Queen Richardis. While the queen wished for him not to end up like his father, Bernard still ached to meet his father, unknown of the true horrors behind him. After a while, Bernard was placed in [[Lisieux]] to continue his studies and to be far away from the King.
