			The episode opens with a narration explaining the major events in the [[Isu]]'s history: their [[Project Anthropos\|creation]] of [[human]]ity as a [[Slavery\|slave]] race, the [[Human-Isu War]] triggered by [[Adam]] and [[Eve]]'s theft of an [[Apples of Eden\|Apple of Eden]], and finally the Isu's demise during the [[Great Catastrophe]]. Despite the Isu's extinction, their legacy lives on in the form of the [[Piece of Eden\|Pieces of Eden]], powerful artifacts which have been discovered and wielded by various humans over the centuries.

			Among them, a select few individuals directly [[Hybrid\|descended]] from the Isu displayed great mastery over the Pieces' powers; while some abused this for their own gain, others chose to dedicate their lives to safeguarding the artifacts and hiding them away to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. And now, one such individual, [[Noa Kim]], has decided his own destiny.

			As [[Shimazu Sei]] regains consciousness after passing out from the effects of the [[Shwedagon Pagoda]]'s Piece of Eden, Noa greets her and tells her that the [[Lantern (Piece of Eden)\|artifact]] cured his [[Bleeding Effect]]. He then tells her that the artifact appears to be capable of healing all forms of psychic damage, and expresses his belief that it was originally intended to be wielded alongside the [[crescent amulet]] and counter its negative effects.

			Just then, Sei is contacted by [[Yuki]], who informs her that she and [[Nathan Zhang]] are currently under attack by [[Sigma Team]], who are preparing to enter the Shwedagon Pagoda and capture Sei and Noa. With little time to spare, Noa uses his [[Eagle Vision]] to learn what path [[Edward Kenway]] and [[Shimazu Saito]] took to escape from the pagoda three centuries prior. Tracking his ancestor's footsteps to a [[Shakyamuni\|Buddha]] statue, Noa finds that the statue activates the entrance to a secret tunnel leading out of the pagoda. Noa and Sei leave through the tunnel, which closes off behind them moments before Sigma Team's arrival.

			Meanwhile, Yuki, Nathan and his men continue to exchange fire with the remaining Sigma Team operatives outside. After Yuki uses her drone to track Noa and Sei's movements and find where they exited the tunnel, Nathan throws a [[Bomb\|grenade]] at the Sigma operatives, giving him and Yuki a chance to flee. Yuki has her drone drop off additional explosives to cover their escape and volunteers to drive to Noa and Sei's location.

			After picking them up, the group begins to drive away from [[Yangon]], heading to a safehouse in the countryside to lay low. Nathan tries to call his men stationed at Yangon's harbor but receives no response, leading him to suspect they were also attacked by [[Abstergo Industries\|Abstergo]]. He then remarks that it was a good idea to take the crescent amulet with them, otherwise it might have been lost. Meanwhile, Yuki, having been shot earlier, tries to maintain her focus on the road, and Noa decides to combine Shwedagon's artifact and the amulet, believing it will allow him to view the past without the need of the [[Animus]].
