In the resulting battle, Pritchard was killed by Dolzell's [[sword]], but the pirates were ultimately defeated. Thatch then organized a [[fist]]-fight between two survivors from the ''Emperor''{{'}}s crew, Edward Kenway and [[Blaney]], with the former emerging victorious and joining Thatch's crew.<ref name="ACBF"/>
