Out of love for France, Seeger joined the Foreign Legion in 1914, at the outset of the First World War. During his travels, his path crossed that of the [[Crystal Skull of Camarón|Crystal Skull]] the Foreign Legion guarded, and he began working on unlocking the artifact's secrets. He kept a diary with notes of his investiagtion and even hid clues in his poems.
