			Serving as an abbess of Lincoln at least since the reign of Hundbeorht, Acha was a close and loyal friend of the ealdorman's family, even befriending his son Hunwald, and taught him scriptures as he grew older. Hundbeorht's loyal associates including Acha were unaware of his plans, and he disappeared shortly after. Knowing he may not have much time life, Acha arranged for a priest to administer Hundbeorht's last rites, while keeping his disappearance a secret from Hunwald in cased in return.<ref name="Homecoming" />
