As far as I know, gender does not affect "synching" with memories. It's just dna after all. You might be thinking of Subject 15, but she was pregnant, which caused the ancestral lines to cross over or something. "Memory within memory-like patterns" is how Lucy described it, I think. So yeah, non-pregnant ladies should be good as Animus subjects. And you know, Subject 1, a guy, relived Aveline's memories, so I don't see why that wouldn't work.

I fail to see how a woman would be "out of place". I don't get where that idea comes from. I'm sure there's been games with male protagonists who were out of their element, who were scared or not up to the task at the beginning. Why can't that be the same for a woman? She can be saved by the Brotherhood, she can actively seek it out, etc.
