==Identity as the fake pious monk==
I assumed that this was the same Egil as the monk you encounter in "[[The Devout Troll]]", where you find a letter written by him proclaiming to have changed his name from Egil to Cynegar the Pious. The wanted poster about Egil the Fornicating Crow is found in Grantesbridge while Cynegar is found in the same shire. From this article, it looks to me like our editors didn't think they've ever encountered Egil the Fornicating Crow after reading the poster, which would be odd to me because I took it immediately as a foreshadowing. Both are known to be fugitives who have murdered people. However, I just noticed a few discrepancies in linking the two together, most tellingly that Egil the Fornicating Crow is described as a Dane while Cynegar has an English accent and is identified as an "Anglo-Saxon man" in the subtitles. Moreover, "The Devout Troll" gives me the impression that Egil was a serial killer while the wanted poster makes it sound more like a single incident where Egil murdered a group of Danes hoping to trade with him (of course this doesn't preclude that he was a repeat offender). Do you guys think they are meant to be the same character, and there was some mistake, or perhaps Egil was a Dane who attempted to pass himself off as Anglo-Saxon when he took on the guise of a monk and that that is all that is reflected in him being referred to as an "Anglo-Saxon man"? He does keep telling Eivor that he was once a "heathen" like her before his conversion.
