The '''skill tree''' is an in-game user interface that allows the player to upgrade [[Basim Ibn Ishaq]]'s weapons and abilities during his time training to become a [[Master Assassin]] in 9th century [[Baghdad]]. ==Behind the scenes==
Each of the images for the skill categories utilize the anachronistic {{Wiki|Diwani}} style of {{Wiki|Islamic calligraphy}} developed in the later 16th century [[Ottoman Empire]] during the reign of Sultan [[Suleiman I]]. The scorpion is an excerpt from an old proverb that reads « لدغ العقارب لم يكن لعّلامة », or "''The scorpion does not sting out of malice.''"<ref>Frembgen, Jürgen Wasim. (2004).
