'''Maurice ''' (died 286) was an [[Egypt]]ian military leader, said to have led the [[Theban Legion]] of the [[Roman Empire]]. Maurice, along with the rest of the Legion, totalling 6666 men who had converted to [[Christianity]], were martyred together in the {{Wiki|Roman Switzerland}} outpost of [[Agaunum]].
