The '''Nestorian Monastery''' was a monastery in the north of [[Baghdad]], located in [[Harbiyah]]'s remote district of [[Zubaydiyah]]. Surrounded by the [[Ditch Sluice of the Fief]] and the Greeks' Gate, the monastery belonged to a group of [[Christianity|Christians]] who followed the {{Wiki|Nestorianism|teachings}} of theologian {{Wiki|Nestorius}}.

During the 860s, the [[Hidden One]] [[Basim Ibn Ishaq]] visited the monastery's cemetery and met a monk, who sought his aid to recover remains that would benefit more than leaving it buried in the ground. The monk's acts of desecration drew the attention of the [[Abbasid Caliphate|Caliphate]] guards, who sought to punish him.
