Mjölnir was created by either Hephaestus, "the maker", and his apprentice [[Consus]] or the Scandinavian Isu blacksmith [[Brokkr]] and his brother [[Eitri]] (also called [[Sindri (mythology)|Sindri]]) during the [[Isu Era]] to bring about the end of the War of Unification.<ref name="ACS">''[[Assassin's Creed: Syndicate]]'' – [[Database: Reconstructed Data 003]]</ref> Its first wielder was [[Thor]], an Isu belonging to a Northern European group of Isu called the [[Æsir]] after their home [[Asgard]] which included [[Tyr]] and [[Odin]], until his possible death along with the rest of the Æsir in an unknown event during the [[Great Catastrophe]] which would be known eventually in the future as "Ragnarök". Thor used his hammer, and its electrical power, in tandem with his personal [[Thor's Set|set]] of armor. After Thor's death, it was stuck into the side of a mountain range in [[Hordaland|Hordafylke]], [[Norway]].<ref name="ACV" />

Millennia  later in the late-9th century CE, Mjölnir was recovered and claimed by the [[Vikings|Viking]] [[Eivor Varinsdottir]], a member of the [[Raven Clan]], a Norse clan that relocated to [[England]] to escape the rule of a [[Unification of Norway|unified]] [[Norway]].
