The '''Mihata Kofun''' is a burial mound in [[Iga]], [[Japan]], located south of the Aekuni Shrine Town.

Many years later in 1581, [[Oda Nobunaga]] led an [[Tenshō Iga War|invasion]] of Iga as part of his conquests.<ref name="Spirit of a Warrior">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Spirit of a Warrior]]</ref> The [[Shinbafuku]], having discovered the artifact's location and using Nobunaga's invasion as a cover,<ref name="The Meaning of the Blade" /> sent Ido Yamashiro to the kofun to retrieve the artifact.<ref name="Fight of the Kakushiba Ikki">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Fight of the Kakushiba Ikki]]</ref>

Nagato, having been informed by [[Hattori Hanzō]] about the plan,<ref name="The Meaning of the Blade" /> decided to send his daughter [[Fujibayashi Naoe|Naoe]] to retrieve the artifact from the tomb, having entrusted his [[Hidden Blade]] to her. However, he was too late as the Shinbafuku got to the kofun at the same time, with Yamashiro knocking out Naoe and taking the jewel away.<ref name="Fight of the Kakushiba Ikki" />
