==Biography==
Living as a pirate, Lopo Cruz joined the Pirate Alliance, a group of pirates who robbed and harassed the coastal communities in Wakasa. Known as a madman, Cruz's machinations caused other pirates to fear him due to his unpredicability.<ref name="Pirate Alliance">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[The Pirate Alliance]]</ref>

In 1582, the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[Yasuke]] followed a clue from [[Kage]]'s personal effects about Lopo's location being on his ship at [[Nairu's Lair]]. They later saw Cruz speaking to rocks about his plans from the alliance. He was then assassinated by Naoe and Yasuke, who discovered a note of fellow Pirate Alliance member [[Little Kappa]] being located at [[Maizuru's Lair]].<ref name="Pirate Alliance"/>
