During [[World War II]], Josephine served as a member of the {{Wiki|French Resistance}} and was based in [[Paris]] during the [[Germany|German]] occupation. In 1942, she worked with fellow Resistance members [[Nancy Wake]] and partisan [[Reboante]] to aid the [[Assassins]] [[Major Gallagher]] and [[The Ambassador]] in an infiltration mission. The Resistance helped them to infiltrate a party held by the [[German Rite of the Templar Order|German Templar]] [[Wilhelm Schmidt]] at the {{Wiki|Folies Bergère}}. At the theater, Josephine and Nancy were nearly compromised when they were stopped by the junior officer [[Oskar Fiedler]] from entering the back door, which led Nancy to drew her {{Wiki|Luger pistol}} and shoot the German officer in the face, blowing the undercover mission.
