==History==
Nearly 3,000 years ago, the people native to this area in England dug trenches and implemented them with chalk, thus creating the outline of Hwithors. In 878, [[Celts|Celtic]] witch-warrior [[Niamh of Argyll]] suggested Hwithors, also known as the "White Horse," to her allies, the [[Hidden Ones|Hidden One]] [[Hytham]] and seeress [[Valka]] of the [[Raven Clan]], as an area to "destroy" [[Excalibur]] in front of both the [[Order of the Ancients]] and the [[Descendants of the Round Table]]. Hytham and Valka agreed as Valka prepared for a "blót," a burning sacrifice, for the [[Swords of Eden|sword]], Excalibur. In reality, the three allies prepared to fool both organizations and the whole of England as they made a replica to burn as Niamh would carry the real Excalibur back to [[Avalon]].<ref name="Chapter 20">''Assassin's Creed: Valhalla – Sword of the White Horse'' — Chapter 20</ref> After fooling a crowd of spectators with a sham chase, Niamh left with Excalibur as Valka and Hytham traveled to the White Horse for the ceremony.<ref name="Chapter 22"/>

Valka and Hytham arrived at the top of White Horse with the replica as the preparations were left for them by Hytham's fellow Hidden Ones. Surrounding them, a crowd mixed of villagers, ladies of the [[Women of the Mist]], and possible members of the Order and Descendants saw them start their ceremony to burn Excalibur. Valka chanted and shouted out her actions of destroying Excalibur for all to hear her. Hytham stood guard as Valka started her ceremony and began to burn the replica. The reactions from the crowd were mixed, from excitement to tears, as a member of Descandants came towards Valka. Valka readied herself until Hytham met the member's attack. As the replica completely burned, Hytham gained an opportunity and killed him while the audience watched the "destruction" of Excalibur. From this spectacle, Valka and Hytham convinced the people of England to believe Excalibur was destroyed.<ref name="Chapter 23">''Assassin's Creed: Valhalla – Sword of the White Horse'' — Chapter 23</ref>
