==Mythology==
Attested to in both the ''{{Wiki|Völsunga saga}}'' and the ''{{Wiki|Prose Edda}}''. Hreiðmarr was a sorcerer and the father of Regin, [[Fafnir]], Ótr, Lyngheiðr and Lofnheiðr. After Ótr was accidentally killed by [[Loki]], the [[Æsir]] repaid Hreiðmarr with many valuables, among which was the magical ring {{Wiki|Andvaranaut}}, which had the ability could create gold.
