Circa 870s, Gerhild was a farmer and was in an unhappy marriage. Managing her crops, she became enraged at her husband's pet [[rabbit]]s. Fortunately, her complaints were heard by the [[Vikings|Viking]] [[shieldmaiden]] [[Eivor Varinsdottir]]. Eivor assisted by killing all of the rabbits, but only to hear her husband cry after seeing his pet rabbits dead.
