'''Critias''' (c. 460 BCE – 403 BCE) was an [[Athens|Athenian]] poet, philosopher and politican who served as the leader of the [[Thirty Tyrants]] which ruled [[Athens]] after the [[Peloponnesian War]].

During the Tyrant's rule, Critias often clashed against fellow member [[Theramenes]], with whom they shared contrasting views on running the government. Eventually, he turned on him during a dispute over Polemachus and attempted to have him assassinated.
