The '''Conway Cabal''' was a supposed conspiracy led by Major General [[Thomas Conway]] with the aim to unseat [[George Washington]] as the head of the [[Continental Army]] and replace him with General [[Horatio Gates]].

Conway, serving as a General under Washington maintained frequent correspondence with Gates, mainly about what he perceived as Washington's failings at his job, such as his losses at Germantown and Brandywine.
