'''Caistor Lupus''' was an ancient [[Rome|Roman]] ruin situated in the forested area of northwestern [[Lincolnshire]], [[England]].

In the 1st century, the site was where [[Simon the Zealot]], one of the desciples of [[Jesus of Nazareth|Jesus Christ]], was [[Crucifixion|crucified]]. Following the exodus of [[Roman Empire|Roman]] troops from [[Great Britain|Britannia]] during the early 5th century, the site, like most Roman settlements, fell into ruin and by the 9th century, became the home to a large [[wolf]] called the [[Gemad-Wulf]].<ref name="ACV">''[[Assassin's Creed: Valhalla]]''</ref>

While this point of interest is meant to represent {{Wiki|Caistor}} in Lincolnshire given the mention of Simon the Zealot's martyrdom, the in game location in relation to other places does not correspond to the actual location of Caistor which is west and only slightly south of of Grimsby rather than south and slightly east.

Caistor Lupus is a combination of the name of the town derived from the Latin word for fort, ''castrum'', and the Latin word for wolf, ''lupus''.
