Yes, you are correct, Haytham was shown to be more ruthless to the end - but he did not kill 'innocents' as much as he showed his enemies no quarter.

Brought up a copy of ''The Fall'' to reply to your third paragraph. A little quote from Hannah Mueller: "You may not lvoe the way things are, but at least we got here through free will. The Templar way would have been less... democratic." And another from the Mentor, about the 2000 US election: "We must ensure, for the welfare of the world, that this election progresses fairly." The Assassins are evidently in favor of a democratic government, and the Templars are not.

The Assassins '''did''' support the Bolsheviks, as the Russian people at the time were all for a renewed government - it was the choice of the people, and the Assassins stood by their choice.
