Not meaning to sound racist, but it doesn't feel out of place at all. It was normal for them to be white in that era and place. As for the female thing, there will probably be some kind of "The Three Musketeers" friendship between them, which is why they are all male. And I doubt customising the appearance will be in the game. These three don't seem like ordinary recruits, like in ACB and R, they are  definitely important to the story. Sure, cutomising outfit is there.
