An article from GameInformer states that he is not in any way related to [[Altaïr]] or [[Desmond Miles]]. It is unknown why he becomes a member of the [[Assassins]], but there is a possibility that he did it, because his family was murdered by rival families, maybe which are [[Templar]]s. Ezio is also announced to be allied with the famous inventor/artist Leonardo da Vinci and the writer/philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli.<br />
