Florence (Firenze in Italian) is a city in northern Italy and home of the notable Auditore family during the late 15th Century. During this time, the city was ruled by the venerable Lorenzo de' Medici of the House of Medici.

History of Florence
Blowjob Fucking Dick Sucking assholes of Florence was founded during the Roman era, in the year 60 BC, although it would be some 1,400 years before it rose to become one of Italy's most important cities. The cradle of the Renaissance, the Medici run city placed a focus on the art and science, as well as being the birthplace of the modern banking system; the city was also home to some of Italy's most notable figures, including Leonardo da Vinci, Boticelli, Michelangelo, Niccolò Machiavelli and the infamous Auditore family. At some point after the year 1291, the assassin Domenico and his son came to live in Florence, adopting the name of Auditore and becoming a part of the city's nobility.

The city flourished during the reign of Lorenzo de' Medici, and during this reign, great artists, philosophers and others had contributed to the city's development. Various architectural marvels blessed the streets of Florence, such as the Santa Maria Novella, the Piazza della Signoria, Il Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio. The beauty of Florence was not immune to the troubles of the real world however, and like other cities in the regions had enemies. One of the Medici's foremost defences was the assassin Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, who often worked on the behalf of Lorenzo de' Medici up until 1476.

However, the presence of the assassin in Florence proved problematic for the Knights Templar, who sought control of the city; organizing the execution of Giovanni and his sons, Rodrigo Borgia and the House of Pazzi begun plans to assume control of the city. In 1478, the Pazzi attacked Lorenzo and his brother Giuliano de' Medici just before Sunday mass, killing Giuliano and wounding Lorenzo in the neck; saved only by the timely arrival of the sole surviving male Auditore – Ezio; Lorenzo ordered the deaths of Pazzi conspirators, and was quickly given his wish in the form of Francesco de' Pazzi. The city remained in Medici hands.

Following the death of Lorenzo de' Medici in 1492, control of the city passed into the hands a Dominican priest named Girolamo Savonarola, who had been using a Piece of Eden to gain control over the masses. Savonarola disagreed with the Renaissance, and preached a return to the medieval way of life and by 1494 had assumed complete control of the city. He remained in control until the year 1498 when the assassin Ezio Auditore returned to his home city and killed the nine leuitenants of Savonarola, before ensuring the death of Savonarola himself.

During Savonarola's reign Florence became "hell on earth"; Savonarola imposed a theocratic and dogmatic regime, instigating the infamous Bonfire of the Vanities in 1497. His followers collected all objects that could lead to sin;, non-religious books, mirrors, arts, jewels or fine clothing, to name a few. However, following Savonarola's death, the city passed back into the hands of the Medici.

Database entry
Founded by Julius Caesar in 59 B.C.E., Florentia, as it was called by the Romans, quickly became a centre of commerce.

After the sacking of Rome, in the 5th Century, the Ostrogoths took over. Under their rule, the city was constantly under attack from the Byzantines, who sent the population level below 1,000. The Lombards came to power in the 6th Century, ending the Byzantine assaults.

Florence grew to a population of 80,000 in the 14th Century, of which 25,000 were working in the wool industry. In 1378, a major revolt of the lower class led to the wool combers rising up and seizing the government of the city. Their progressive, radical democracy lasted for less than 2 months before the upper classes seized control once more, but the revolt so terrified the rich, that a century later it was still discussed in hushed tones, much as the 1960s hippy movement is today.

The Albizzi family became the de facto rulers after the revolt. Worried about the rise of the Medici family, who were newly rich bankers rapidly gaining influence in Florence, Maso and Rinaldo Albizzi imprisoned Cosimo de' Medici and exiled him in 1433. But Cosimo gained influence behind the scenes, and rose to power in 1434, exiling the entire Albizzi family except for Luca, who had been loyal to Cosimo. Luca Albizzi joined the Signoria, the ruling body of Florence, as Gonfaloniere, succeeding Cosimo's old friend Ilario Auditore in 1442.

Under the Medici family, which built impressive public buildings and supported such luminaries as Michelangelo, Leonardo and Botticelli, the Renaissance began with Florence securely at its centre.
Santa Maria del Fiore
:Main: Santa Maria del Fiore

The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore is the church (Duomo) of Florence begun in 1296 in the Gothic style to the design of Arnolfo di Cambio and completed structurally in 1436 with the dome engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi. The Basilica appears in Assassin's Creed II in Florence, as it should. The tower is climbable and has a View Point on the very top of it. Also, the interior is accessible in Iltani's Assassin's Tomb. When this side-mission is entered, Ezio needs to climb to the inside of the top, where Iltani's tomb is, from the entrance.

Santa Maria Novella
:Main: Santa Maria Novella

Santa Maria Novella is a church in Florence, situated just across the main railway station which shares its name. Chronologically, it is the first great basilica in Florence, and is the city's principal Dominican church. The church, the adjoining cloister, and chapter house contain a store of art treasures and funerary monuments. Especially famous are frescoes by masters of Gothic and early Renaissance. They were financed through the generosity of the most important Florentine families, who ensured themselves of funerary chapels on consecrated ground. In Assassin's Creed II, the basilica houses an Assassin's Tomb.
The southernmost area of Florence is unreachable by the player in the main game; attempting to cross the bridge over the river will cause Desmond to desynchronise and although you cannot reach the other side, map icons for posters will appear when you are notorious. Several viewpoints with eagles are also visible. The development team planned for this section of the map to be released as part of the Bonfire of the Vanities downloadable content. Once the Bonfire of the Vanities is bought, the sprint jump ability will be unlocked, which allows Ezio to sprint and jump off of flag posts in southern Florence. The sprint jump is only useful here.

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519) was an Italian polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, botanist and writer in the Italian Renaissance.

He befriends Ezio Auditore early on in the plot of Assassin's Creed II and they remain as such for the remainder of the game. His main role is to decipher codex pages that are found throughout Italy, some of which turn out to be design sketches that he uses to make upgrades to Ezio’s Hidden Blade. He also invented the Flying Machine that Ezio uses when he sets out to assassinate Carlo Grimaldi.

Biography
Early life
Leonardo da Vinci was born illegitimately to Messer Piero da Vinci – an Italian notary – and a peasant woman named Caterina in 1452 and was raised in Tuscany. By age 14, he was apprenticed to Verrocchio, the owner of the alleged finest workshop in Florence where he collaborated with the great painter on his ‘’Baptism of Christ’’.

At 20, Leonardo was titled a master by the Guild of Saint Luke and opened his first workshop in Florence where he continued to collaborate with his old master. During his time there, he also befriended the Auditore family.

Florence
Early on in Assassin’s Creed II, Leonardo meets Ezio when he accompanies his mother to pick up some paintings from Leonardo’s workshop. On the way back to the Palazzo Auditore, Leonardo and Ezio converse about his work, which sparks the lifelong friendship between the two.

After the execution of Giovanni, Federico, and Petruccio Auditore, Leonardo meets Ezio again, greeting him with a brotherly embrace. He is then requested to repair the Hidden Blade and is immediately fascinated by its sophisticated design despite its age. After what is apparently several hours of work (as Ezio is shown to have fallen asleep), Leonardo finally finishes the repairs. Just before handing the weapon over, Leonardo claims that Ezio’s ring finger must be removed because “the blade is designed to ensure the commitment of whoever wields it.” It is shown that he was simply joking, however, as the blade had been modified so that the removal of the finger was no longer necessary. Immediately after this, a Florentine guard takes Leonardo into the yard for interrogation, throwing him to the ground and kicking him several times to find out Ezio's whereabouts. Ezio promptly sneaks up behind the guard and assassinates him with his new weapon.

Leonardo is not seen again until 1478 when Ezio visits him with another codex page attained from his Uncle Mario. He deciphers the page and, while Ezio practices the new Assassination Techniques, constructs a second hidden blade to be put at his friend’s disposal. This is when Ezio inquires about Francesco de’ Pazzi which prompts Leonardo to discreetly tell him that he needs to seek out La Volpe (“the fox”). After this, Leonardo appears at several instances that are unrelated to the story, since Ezio simply visits him to decipher codex pages in between memories.

After Ezio stops the Pazzi conspiracy, he receives another codex page from Lorenzo de' Medici and again visits Leonardo in order to have it deciphered. He is again astonished by the blade design, as it has been developed to allow the wielder to inject poison into their enemies.

Leonardo meets Ezio again in the Apennine Mountains after the fall of the Pazzi Conspirators. He is faced with the problem of a broken wagon wheel and asks Ezio to lift the carriage, causing him to notice the contraption in the back. This is the first conversation in which Leonardo mentions his Flying Machine. Amused by Leonardo’s idea, Ezio offers to drive, and they set off for Romagna. During the trip, the wagon is attacked by the soldiers of Rodrigo Borgia, threatening their lives all the way through the Mountains. At the end of the trail, Leonardo takes the reins and leaves Ezio to deal with the soldiers. They meet back up at the docks in Romagna where they are scheduled to set sail for Venice after Ezio goes through an ordeal involving Caterina Sforza.

Venice
Upon arrival in Venice, Leonardo and Ezio are given a tour of the city by a baggage handler named Alvise before being led to his new workshop. He and Ezio part ways there with a brotherly embrace.

Ezio again consults Leonardo for his expertise, but this time for something other than decryption. He inquires about Leonardo’s Flying Machine that he learned of on the way to Romagna in order to invade the Palazzo Ducale so that he can rescue the Doge from Templar Carlo Grimaldi. After many test flights, Leonardo deems the machine useless and flies into a fit of rage, but is then inspired by a piece of burnt paper floating from the fire. He concludes that in order for Ezio to reach his destination, they must light a dozen fires across the city which will cause the air to rise, therefore lifting the machine.

After being accused of the murder of the Doge, Ezio comes to Leonardo asking for a Carnevale mask so that he won’t be noticed as the most wanted man in Venice. He also bears another codex page, much to Leonardo’s interest, as he discovers it contains plans for a small firearm that can be concealed on Ezio’s wrist. After testing the Pistol, Leonardo gives Ezio the mask he requested and points him in the direction of Sister Teodora and Antonio so that he may plot to assassinate the new Doge: the Templar Marco Barbarigo.

Leonardo and Ezio meet again briefly outside the workshop, just after Ezio discovers the Templar ship is returning the next day. Leonardo points out several key facts that he discovered piecing together the markings on the backs of the codex pages such as the arrival of a prophet on the day the Piece of Eden is brought to the floating city (Venice).

In the Battle of Forli DLC, Ezio, Mario, and Niccolò Machiavelli visit Leonardo so that he might be able to make sense of the Apple which they have successfully obtained from the Spaniard. To their dismay, he cannot learn any more about it than and, following its accidental activation, it is decided that it should be taken to Forli to be kept out of Templar hands. Mario also asks him to come and stay at the Auditore Family Villa. This marks the last of Leonardo’s major appearances in the game, as he is only seen painting in the Villa, unless asked to decipher codex pages.

Legacy
He later worked in Rome and Bologna and spent his last years in France, at the home awarded him by Francis I. He took his most famous painting, the Mona Lisa, with him when he retired to France in 1513. He died May 2, 1519. The exact cause of his death is unknown, but could presumably have been a blood infection, due to him suffering from Gout.

Leonardo is renowned primarily as a painter. Two of his works, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, are the most famous, most reproduced and most parodied portrait and religious painting of all time, their fame approached only by Michelangelo's Creation of Adam. Leonardo's drawing of the Vitruvian Man is also regarded as a cultural icon.
Perhaps fifteen of his paintings survive, the small number due to his constant, and frequently disastrous, experimentation with new techniques and his chronic procrastination. Nevertheless, these few works, together with his notebooks, which contain drawings, scientific diagrams and his thoughts on the nature of painting, are an invaluable contribution to later generations of artists, only rivalled by that of his contemporary, Michelangelo.
Leonardo is revered for his technological ingenuity. He conceptualised a helicopter, a tank, concentrated solar power, a calculator, the double hull and outlined a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. Relatively few of his designs were constructed or even feasible during his lifetime, but some of his smaller inventions, such as an automated bobbin winder and a machine for testing the tensile strength of wire, entered the world of manufacturing unheralded. As a scientist, he greatly advanced the state of knowledge in the fields of anatomy, civil engineering, optics and hydrodynamics.

Characteristics and personality
His portrayal in Assassin's Creed II depicts Leonardo da Vinci as a cheerful and optimistic man. Ezio is his best friend, and as such, he treats him like a brother and has taken great risks for trying to protect him, even though he says later in the game that courage is not his strong suit.

Despite being an accomplished and respected artist, as well as deeply curious about the world's wonders, Leonardo da Vinci was also a chronic procrastinator. Most of his commissioned works took years longer than anticipated and many were never even finished. It is possible that this was because he did not feel his work to be important enough to devote his life to, as when he meets Ezio, he complains that it lacks purpose and he wishes to do something which has more impact on the world, such as architecture. Regardless, when Leonardo is intrigued by something, he becomes insatiably curious and often impossible to communicate with, as demonstrated when Ezio brings him Altaïr's codex pages for decryption.

Leonardo was likely homosexual. This theory is supported by the fact that in 1476, he was accused of sodomy. It is also speculated that Salai, his assistant for many years, was his lover. His painting St. John the Baptist was one of many paintings in which Salai was the model used, and upon his death in 1519, he left the Mona Lisa to him.

Trivia
thumb|250px|Leonardo da Vinci - Genius Inventor
*All of Leonardo's modifications on previously existing assassin gear are from designs detailed in Altaïr's codex, which only he and Giovanni Auditore can decipher and translate. It is probably from these that Leonardo designed some of his other inventions.
*Like other main characters, Leonardo's appearance does not change throughout the 23 years he is shown in the game, from his first encounter to the decoding of the codex in the villa in 1499.
*Unless it is a codex page or something important to the story, such as the design for two hidden blades, the cut-scene is the same when Ezio visits Leonardo each time (even after Leonardo moves to Venice).
* Interestingly, in author Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code, it is suggested that Leonardo da Vinci was the Grand Master of a secret society known as The Priory of Sion, an organization that was allegedly connected with the Knights Templar.
*Historically, Leonardo would later become a close friend and military engineer for Cesare Borgia, son of Rodrigo Borgia.
*When Ezio accidentally activates the Piece of Eden in the Battle of Forlì DLC, images similar to Leonardo's later designs for the tank can be briefly glimpsed, this experience may have provided him with the images of his later inventions.
*Ezio uses a wheel-lock firearm, based on a design found in the Codex pages, which historically wasn't developed until just after the time-frame of the game; historically, Leonardo designed some of the first wheel-lock firearms.
*Leonardo had no surname; "da Vinci" means "of Vinci," identifying his homeland.
*At the time of Assassins Creed: Brotherhood in 1503, Leonardo had been under Cesare Borgia's patronage for a year. Comments made by designers in an interview at E3 suggest that Leonardo may be a spy for the Assassins working undercover for them as Cesare's military engineer and his character may be more developed than in Assassin's Creed II.
*A map of the city of Imola that Leonardo drew for Cesare Borgia appears frequently in Assassin's Creed II; on a wall in the Hideout, in Leonardo's workshop, and as the Codex map Caterina gives to Ezio.
*The E3 Gameplay demo suggests that Leonardo constructed the firearm used by Cesare Borgia kill to Mario Auditore. But since he was hired by Cesare in 1502 this may be considered as an error.

*Leonardo's left hand has a similiar mark as the Assassins mark (The burning caused by Antonio for Ezio's induction.) This may lead to the fact that, instead of being an ally to Assassins, he is an Assassin. ACIIHe Also sucked Mario's Hairy Dick and Masturbated when he died, and then he drank his own cum.

The Hideout is one of two modern-day locations seen in Assassin's Creed II. It serves as a base for the modern Assassins which includes Lucy Stillman, Shaun Hastings, Rebecca Crane, and Desmond Miles.

The building itself appears to be in Italy, as evidenced by signs written in Italian, and the architecture outside. The loft area of the hideout contains three doors that cannot be opened throughout the whole game, one of which is a reinforced metal door. Given that there is only one bed visible in the rest of the building, it is likely that at least one of the hidden rooms is for accommodation. Various equipment in the Hideout is branded with the Abstergo logo, perhaps indicating that it was stolen.

The Animus room contains the Animus 2.0. Lucy is usually found sitting at her desk with her computer. Her role is keeping track of the Assassin parties outside of the "hideout", fighting the Templars. Shaun acts a researcher, and he writes for the Animus' database as well as provide tactical support of other Assassins out in the field. Rebecca works next to the Animus, keeping record of its performance. Maintaining and fixing the machine is her responsibility. She also adds notes to the database using the username "Rebecca84", sometimes noting that there is a hidden "Glyph" on a nearby building. During the interludes when Desmond steps out of the Animus, he can interact with these characters to learn more about them and the story. Unfortunately, there is nothing else to do in these segments.

The ground floor of the building contains a large warehouse with piles of boxes, which later serve as a makeshift climbing tutorial for Desmond. It is possible that the Assassins bought the building after it had already been built as a warehouse. This area also contains the building's security systems.

Trivia
*When first entering the temporary base of the assassins, while using Eagle Vision, the road blockers on either side of the garage door are seen in blue, as if they were allies.
*The buildings seen on the outside seem to resemble those of Florence. This could be why you don't see the outside when the assassins are escaping. Also in the parking area of the hideout, there are words in Italian for private parking and some others.
*The keyboards used by Lucy and the other assassins are unusual in that they seem to "mirror" standard keyboards, with number pads on the left side and the main enter key also being on the left side. Presumably the rest of the keyboard is also reversed in a similar fashion.
*A picture and the word "alert" can be seen on Lucy's and Shaun's computers at the hideout.
*A glith occurs if the player turns off the game after DNA sequence 11 is completed (during the cutscene when Desmond comes out of the Animus then imediately asks to go back in for the next DNA sequence). The player will be in the warhouse section of the hideout, but Lucy, Rebecca and Shaun will be nowhere and you cannot re-enter the Animus anymore, you are stuck in the hideout with nothing, although there is a missing wall down in the warehouse section that you can jump through, but it will lead you to a pool of water with no way back up and nowhere to go. If this glitch happens the only to fix it is to start a new game as the current data will not allow you to continue in the Animus.

Monteriggioni is a location in Assassin's Creed II and a commune in the Italian region of Tuscany. Built in the 13th Century by the overlords of Siena, Monteriggioni was actively involved in the defence of Tuscany against Florentine attempts to gain more territory. At the front of this conflict was the Auditore family, who became the city’s rulers and protectors. It was the Auditore who constructed Monteriggioni’s famous walls, which can be seen today.

Although standing in opposition to Florentine desires, the Auditore had cordial relations with the Medici family, largely due to their collective Florentine roots.

Ezio discovered the village run down and degraded due to neglect and aging. Ezio eventually restored Monteriggioni and the population which started at 33 people expanded out to 3546.

Renovations
In his adventures, Ezio discovered the Auditore Family Villa in the city of Monteriggioni, perched atop a beautiful Tuscan valley.

Monteriggioni had become run down and was badly in need of repair.

The Villa became Ezio’s domain and through time he was able to invest in renovations, bringing the city back to its former glory.

Ezio decorated the villa with famous renaissance paintings, a collection of his weapons and armor and stored a variety of collected objects.

Gameplay
Any and every improvement to the city will help develop the local economy, rewarding the player with periodic income, which can be reinvested in the city or used elsewhere in the game. Renovations usually add treasure chests to the renovated area. For however much you spend on renovations you will be paid back 10% of the investment per 20 minutes. For example, if you renovate the well, for 4000 florins, your periodic income generated from the town will increase by 400.

There is a chest inside the Villa, in the same room where you decide on renovations, that will store the money your investments earn you. It receives a deposit (deposit varies based on total investment amount) every 20 minutes, but has a limit on how much it can hold. If you let it fill, any excess will be lost to Claudia. For this reason it's recommended to return to the Villa to empty it periodically.

Throughout the city, Ezio can find eight statuettes of some of the gods worshipped in ancient Rome, each 2 statuettes belong to a pedestal, and every pedestal completed rewards Ezio with a hefty 2,000 florin reward.

If a player earns enough Uplay points, they can also unlock the Auditore Family Crypt, another secret location which reveals more about the Auditore family and its humble origins.

History
Monteriggioni successfully withstood attacks from Florence, until in 1554, the city was betrayed. Giovanni Zeti, the keeper of the garrison and a Florentine exile was allowed to return to Florence in exchange for the keys to the city.

Extraordinarily, the Auditore were allowed to continue their rule of the Monteriggioni under Florentine leadership, showing that the Medici do not forget their friends.

Monteriggioni hides many secrets. Ezio discovered the history of his family’s past and the Assassin's Order legacy.

In 1499, Cesare Borgia led an attack on Monteriggioni, including the use of cannons, which reduced the town and the Auditore villa to rubble.
