The Assassin's Creed Comic is a webcomic created by Penny Arcade, which focuses on video games and video gaming culture. The comic is drawn in a very cartoony style, focusing on a mission of Altaïr in Acre. While the comic is drawn from Altaïr's point of view, there is also dialogue from Al Mualim, who doesn't appear in the comic.

Plot
Altaïr was ordered by Al Mualim to hunt down and assassinate a man in Acre. Once he arrived, he blended into the crowd, following a strongly-built man with a green cloak. Altaïr swung from ledge to ledge and onto the rooftops in an effort to keep a closer eye on his target. However, his target soon noticed Altaïr's presence. The man kept his guard up, and proceeded to buy oranges, while Altaïr continued to wait on a rooftop for the right time to attack his target. Suddenly, the man startled Altaïr by appearing behind him on the rooftop. He then tried to insult Altaïr by referring to him as "one of Al Mualim's pups." They engage in battle, but fast as Altaïr may be, the man held his ground and managed to dodge any attack Altaïr made with his multiple weapons.

While fighting, he does warn Altaïr about Al Mualim's intentions, claiming he will slowly take away Altaïr's freedom and eventually kill him. Altaïr then found himself in the midst of a headlock, but soon caught an opening in the man's position, and elbowed his face. Altaïr backed away while the man recovered, and

&nbsp
proceeded to perform an air assassination with his Hidden Blade. However, before he could do so, the man punched Altaïr back onto the ground, countering his move. The man tackled Altaïr and they were both soon on the ground. The man told Altaïr that Al Mualim does not care for his Assassins, and then torments Altaïr by telling him that his master, Al Mualim can always father more, for the man thought that he could see Al Mualim's face in Altaïr's. Altaïr, angered and confused, made his final strike by headbutting the man and impaling his stomach with the Hidden Blade.&nbsp
The story ends as Altaïr slides his hand over the dead man's face, closing his eyes. Al Mualim later asked if Altaïr's target had said something unusual, but Altaïr responded that he had said "nothing of consequence."

Darius was a male Persian Assassin living during the reign of King Xerxes. He assassinated him with the Hidden Blade, making it the first known assassination with the hidden blade. He is the only Assassin in the Sanctuary whose Assassin's Tomb is required to be visited.

Trivia
*Darius had all ten fingers, as seen on the picture on the right. Either this was a creation mistake or the hidden blade's design was later changed so that the ring finger did not need to be removed. Another explanation may be the rather puffy aspect of Persian clothing. As it would be difficult for the blade to extend through the fabric, the mechanism is worn on the outside of the sleeve (as seen in the picture on the right), thus making the blade extend higher than normal and so it would be out of the way of the fingers. Because the style of clothing in the Holy Land, where Altaïr lives, is different, the mechanism is lowered and therefore requires removal of the ring finger. Alternatively it could be artistic license or oversight on the part of the sculptor.
*Xerxes' father was called Darius. His eldest son and heir to the throne was also named Darius. In real life, Xerxes was murdered by Artabanus, commander of the royal guard with the help of an eunuch named Aspamitres in 465 BCE. The prince Darius was supposedly accused of the murder by Artabanus, leading to his death. However, Artabanus himself was put to death by Xerxes' successor.
*Darius had his hidden blade on his right arm, despite the fact that most hidden blades are worn on the left (save for Ezio's second hidden blade). It is possible that he was right-handed, and Assassins of his day perhaps followed with the thought that since most use the right hand for sword fighting, it was only natural to put this new weapon on the same hand. When the hidden blade is on the left hand of a right-handed person, they are now free to use their dominant hand more effectively, perhaps holding an object or person, or throwing a punch. Another theory is that Darius could have been left-handed, and so he wielded the blade on the right.

Francisco Randez is a Canadian fashion model with a Spanish background. He was born and raised in the city of Montreal in the French-speaking province of Quebec and began to model at the age of 20.

He is the face model of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore Da Firenze and Desmond Miles throughout the series. His father came from Spain and his mother is French-Canadian.

Before modeling, he worked as a bartender (which may be the inspiration for the character background of Desmond Miles) and working in his grandmother's corner store as a teenager.

As well as being a model, Francisco is also the lead singer of the band called Moudjik. Their hit song, "Avant", has become quite successful.<br />
<br />
According to Francisco, the casting department of Ubisoft found him via his modeling agency. At the first meeting they set up a photo session in 3D where they took images of Randez's face from every possible angle, including the sides of his face and from above and below, and the first version of his face in 3D model. At the second meeting they asked him to portray simple expressions, such as joy and anger.<br />
<br />
Francisco says that he is fascinated by cinema and that having his face associated with the main character in a video game revolutionizes the genre and has given him much pleasure, but not really other benefits.<br />
<br />
Randez has been modeling since 1998. He is 6'3" tall (185 cm) and has brown eyes and black hair. He has been featured in the campaigns of some well-known fashion designers and brands, including Jean Paul Gaultier and Benetton. He is interested in martial arts and combat sports and had been boxing for nearly ten years before switching to track and field. He has been running for several years now, specializing in 100 and 200 meters events.

Although Francisco took on a career in music and modeling, he has not forgotten about his enthusiasm for sports and the human machine, which drove him to finish a degree in massage therapy at Guijeck Institute in Montreal. Francisco has also participated in naturopathic medicine studies, and has always been passionate about health and natural ways ever since his childhood.

Through his many various modeling gigs, Francisco has landed on multiple jobs on television, radio and magazine interviews. He was very interested in media communications and began to give it serious thoughts. He started as an anchor for MontrealTV and worked on a television programme called CoverGuy (which aired in October 2008) as well as spent a month and a half long trip in Panama to record a 13-episode length travel adventure programme named Aventuras Panama. The show aired September 2009 on Evasion.
