==Biography==
===Aiding the Templars===
In 1191, Masun and a fellow [[Assassin]] [[Jamal]] were converted to the [[Templar]] cause. When the Templars arrived at the gates of Masyaf the same year after perusing [[Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad]], Massun opened the gates for them, and allowed them to [[Defense of Masyaf|lay siege]] to the village.

===Death===
Soon after the attack on Masyaf, the Altaïr found out about Masun's treachery through a letter that he had [[Pickpocketing|pickpocketed]] from the basket weaver. [[Interrogation|Interrogating]] Masun in a secluded area, Altaïr found out about his allegiance to the Templars. Bringing the traitor back to Al Mualim, Masun was given a final chance to repent. However the man remained defiant, and ultimately, the [[Grand Master of the Assassin Order|Grand Master]] had no choice but to execute him.

==Personality and characteristics==
Masun appeared to be a madman at first sight, claiming that the Templars goal was noble and that everyone should serve them. Masun was also quite persuasive, able to advocate that Al Mualim was a bane on the village of Masyaf through his preaching skills. The man also proved very defiant, believing in what he thought was right until his death.

==Trivia==
*Masun is the only person who Altaïr did not kill after an [[interrogation]]. All other people that Altaïr interrogated were killed with the hidden blade.
*Masun appears like some of the civilians in [[Jerusalem]] or [[Damascus]].
* The word ''Maṣūn'' (مصون) means "well-protected" or "safeguarded" in Arabic.
