Isabella I of Castile (22 April 1451 – 26 November 1504), was a Queen of Castile and León. She was married to King Ferdinand. Furthermore, she was a very religious person and often had contact with Tomás de Torquemada, Inquisitor General and her personal confessor.

Biography
Work with the Assassins
In 1491, Christoffa Corombo asked Isabella to finance his exploration to the New World. However, Queen Isabella was waging a war against King Muhammad XII, an enemy of Spain, for which she needed all the funds available to her. The Assassin Ezio Auditore managed to persuade Muhammad XII to surrender, effectively ending the war.

When Luis de Santángel explained what her what had happened, she thanked Ezio, but insisted that she could not finance Corombo's journey, as her funds were still scarce. She also told them that the king of France had already made him an offer, not knowing it was a trap set up by the Templars.

Ezio set off to rescue Corombo, while Luis de Santángel and Raphael Sánchez, both a member of her court and secret Assassins, convinced her to finance a part of the journey, offering to pay for the other half themselves. Isabella eventually agreed, which made Christoffa's journey possible.

Working for the Borgia
When Luis de Santángel died, the Assassins lost their contact with the Spanish Queen. Ezio Auditore sent a team of Apprentices to investigate. The Apprentices eventually found his journal and discovered that he had been trying to poison the queen. However, they were not sure whether he tried to do so out of revenge, or because she served the Templar cause.

In 1504, the Assassins discovered that Queen Isabella had contact with Cesare Borgia, who had persuaded her to work with him. This made her a servant of the Borgia, and thus a threat to the Assassins. Ezio then sent his Apprentices to poison her with the same toxin that Luis had attempted to use.
