here are my theories
1. lucy was killed because ezio's trilogy is almost at an end. i know it was early but vidic was killed off one game late after altairs trilogy. the truth is that they probrably killed off lucy to give a chance for new characters to be introduced. did anyone think of that? 2. lucy is alive. desmond loved her and tried to resurect her by putting the apple in her pocket or in her hand, but just the second before he broke contact with the apple he fell into a coma and only just managed to give lucy the apple. 3. lucy is a templar and juno knew of this. i think this because juno says the cross darkens the horizon just before killing lucy. think about it. templars wear that cross and the horizon meaning the future may mean that lucy is a templar and therefore holding back desmond from achieving his destiny. 4. in the da vinci disaperence dlc someone said that the stabbing was talked about (im going off this wiki as i havnt got the dlc yet) and therefore lucy being stabbed was a ploy just to awaken desmonds 6th sense. these are just guesses so dont judge me i work with what iv got

guys i know your saying that rodrigo casts the illusion on ezio but theres a problem with that theory. 1. wouldnt rodrigo need to be in contact with the apple? 2. rodrigo wanted to kill ezio remember? i think your on the right lines as in it was an illusion however it would be more likely that ezio created the illusion to fool rodrigo
