Pierre Bellec (c. 1740 – 1791) was a French-Canadian Master Assassin, and a former colonial soldier, who was active during the French Revolution. At some point before the French Revolution, Bellec took a seat on the Assassin Council of the French Brotherhood.

Biography
Early life
Born in New France and having discovered his Assassin lineage while partaking in the Seven Years' War as a corporal, Bellec was careful not to rise in the ranks, being more useful to the Brotherhood as a nondescript soldier. He received training from the Colonial Brotherhood, witnessing its decline and the brutality of the Templars. He came to France just in time to escape the purge of the Colonial Assassins, and trained many Assassins for the French Brotherhood, including Charles Dorian and the latter's son, Arno Dorian.

Although he was passionately loyal to the cause, his view on the Assassins' philosophy was rather simplistic, bordering on fanatical, refusing to allow peace with the Templars no matter the cost. He also showed sympathies with the Jacobins.

Meeting Arno Dorian
Around 1789, Bellec began infiltrating prisons throughout France in search of mysterious glyphs. While imprisoned in the Bastille, a young man was thrown in his cell, accused of murder. While the young man slept, Bellec found Charles' watch on his person and realized he was Charles' son, Arno. When Arno awoke and discovered his watch missing, Bellec challenged him to duel him for it. The duel came to an abrupt end when Arno told Bellec to return to the glyphs in the corner. Bellec then realized that Arno possessed Eagle Vision to see them. He gave back Charles' watch to Arno, revealing that his father was an Assassin. He then spent two months training Arno in combat, and telling him about the Assassins and Templars.

On July 14, the Bastille was stormed by revolutionaries, prompting Bellec and Arno to take the opportunity to escape. When they came to the edge of the battlements, Bellec gave Arno a medallion, saying it would lead him to the Assassins, before taking a Leap of Faith into the the moat below.

Sure enough, Arno found the Assassin headquarters underneath Sainte-Chapelle, against Bellec's expectations. After greeting the boy, he brought Arno before the Assassin Council and witnessed his initiation into the Brotherhood.

Mirabeau tasked Arno, under pressure from the Assassin Council, to assassinate the Templar Charles Gabriel Sivert. Bellec told Arno that he won't assist him, but advised the young Assassin to try and exploit opportunities in order to reach his target. Should the assassination fail, Bellec told Arno it is best to take his own life rather than compromise the Brotherhood, which was the way during the Levantine era.

Poisoning of Mirabeau
The Templar Élise de la Serre, daughter of the late Grand Master François de la Serre and the adopted sister of Arno Dorian, was brought to the hideout of the Assassins by Arno. Elise tried to appeal for an alliance with the Assassins against an extremist faction within the Templar Order. Bellec strongly objected to the alliance, but was paid no heed by Mirabeau, who sought peace with the Templars.

Fed up with Mirabeau's conservative views, Bellec threatened an apothecary in exchange for aconite, a deadly poison. Bellec then gave Mirabeau a chance to change his mind, but once Bellec realized he could not change Mirabeau's mind, he snuck the aconite into Mirabeau's drink. Once Mirabeau drank the poisoned wine, Bellec paid Mirabeau his final rites.

Arno eventually tracked Bellec down to the Sainte-Chapelle, with Bellec attempting to explain that he was only following the examples of Assassins in Masyaf, Monteriggioni, and the Thirteen Colonies in purging the old order to rebuild it with greater strength and conviction. Bellec attempted to convince Arno to join his cause, but Arno refused, resulting in the two dueling.

Arno managed to gain the upper hand in the fight, and was forced to kill Bellec when he tried to kill Elise. Before dying, Bellec commended Arno for defeating him, and urged Arno to finish him off, otherwise he will never stop. Once Bellec died from his wounds, Arno paid him his final rites. Bellec's Assassin robes were then passed on to his former apprentice.

Personality and characteristics
To save the Brotherhood, I'd see Paris burn.
Bellec was a grizzled and argumentative individual, known for possessing a rather crude sense of humor. He also refused to put up with any unreasonable behavior from his compatriots, such as Arno Dorian.

Bellec was very extreme in his methods, refusing to believe that the Assassins and Templars could ever achieve peace between their factions, without it implicitly meaning appeasing the enemy and thereby betraying the Brotherhood. His extremism culminated in poisoning of Mirabeau in order to prevent peace between the two factions. In contrast to this act of murder, he believed himself to be the successor of other Assassins who managed to rebuild the Brotherhood, such as Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, and Ratonhnhaké:ton.

Despite his coarse attitude, there is a softer side to Bellec's personality. He trusted Arno like he did with the latter's father, but believed that he was influenced by the wrong kind of people. Before he died, he admitted his respect for Arno and his decision, and urged him to kill him in order to strengthen his conviction.

Trivia
*According to Bellec, his grandmother was Belgian.
*Pierre is a French form of Peter.
John de la Tour (unknown – 11 May 1745) was a French-Canadian member of the Assassin Order who played a pivotal role in the foundation of the Colonial Assassin Brotherhood.

Biography
John de la Tour resided in Acadia, a member of a wealthy family, and operated under direct order of the French Assassin Council. In 1740, he became acquainted with Achilles Davenport, who had been sent to the Colonies by the Mentor of the Caribbean branch of the Order, Ah Tabai, in order to establish a new Brotherhood. Upon first meeting de la Tour, Achilles learned that he had attempted to build a network for gathering information, with the intention of easily identifying any potential threats aimed towards the colonies, and personally theorized that the New World contained several First Civilization sites and artifacts. Achilles did not hold de la Tour in high regard, referring to him as an arrogant bastard.

In 1744, John accompanied Achilles to Quebec in order to locate Mathieu Léveillé, a slave from Martinique who had been believed to possess certain knowledge regarding the First Civilization. However, due to the weather conditions, the two were delayed on their journey, and by the time of their arrival Mathieu had passed away from an unknown illness in September 1743.

Fortunately for the Assassins, they discovered that the government had arranged a marriage between Léveillé and Angélique-Denise. However, the ceremony never took place, and the woman was put up for sale at a slave auction. Acting on impulse, de la Tour bought her, but not before Mathieu was able to share his secrets with her. Witnessing this act changed Achilles' view of John, whom the former came to respect.

In 1745, John journeyed to Louisbourg with Achilles and Angélique posing as his slaves, in search of a safe house owned by Nicolas Court, a Hermeticist who studied the mythology of the indigenous people of the New World. De la Tour believed that Nicolas held valuable information that would lead them to finding First Civilization Temples. With the pair posing as slaves allowing them the benefit of drawing less suspicion and moving easily through the city, Achilles was nevertheless irritated by the charade, contrary to John.

However, as the conflicts between European powers had reached America, British troops appeared in the city. John and Achilles attempted to enlist the aid of the French government, but were turned away as the French decided to reclaim their lost territory through treaties and negotiations, a tactic which the Assassins were skeptical about. De la Tour and Achilles helped prepare the Louisbourg fortress for the impending British attack, while Angélique searched the city for the safe house.

When the conflict between the French and the British finally erupted in the colonies, de la Tour realized the Templars would attempt to take advantage of it for their own purposes. John presented Achilles with his Assassin robes and named him as Mentor of the Colonial Brotherhood, before leaving to fight against the invading British forces, in order to buy Achilles and Angélique time to complete their mission.

After being left in exile at the Davenport Homestead by the Templars, Achilles placed the robes in a cave at the far end of the property. They would eventually be recovered by Ratonhnhaké:ton, at Achilles' request.

Kesegowaase (1730 – 1757) was an Abenaki member of the Colonial branch of the Assassin Order.

At a young age, he served the French Army as a mercenary along with other members of his tribe. After meeting the Assassin Mentor Achilles Davenport, he joined the Colonial Brotherhood. Through Kesegowaase, the Assassins gained allies within nearly every French-aligned tribe.

After the outbreak of the French and Indian War, Achilles tasked Kesegowaase and Liam O'Brien with eliminating George Monro, an officer in the British Army and member of the Templar Order who held the Precursor manuscript. In August 1757, Monro surrendered to French and indigenous forces after the siege of Fort William Henry. Kesegowaase then ordered the natives under his command to massacre the British troops, who had been allowed safe passage from the fort.

Having failed to kill Monro in the massacre, Kesegowaase rallied his men and attacked Albany. While Liam killed Monro, Kesegowaase fought his former ally, Shay Cormac, and was killed himself.

Biography
Early life
Kesegowaase was born in 1730 in the territory of the Maliseet tribe, around modern day New Brunswick. During his youth, he lived in a walled village surrounded by agricultural land, and practiced hunting, fishing and other methods.

As tensions arose between the British and his people, Kesegowaase and other members of his tribe became mercenaries for the French Army. Around this time, Kesegowaase began corresponding with Achilles Davenport, the Mentor of the Colonial Assassin Brotherhood. He would receive letters through Achilles' protégé, Liam O'Brien.

In 1746, Kesegowaase met Achilles and Liam as they were fighting for the French on behalf of the Brotherhood. Impressed by Kesegowaase's determination, the two invited him to join the Assassin Order. In 1749, Kesegowaase met Shay Cormac and would serve as one of his instructors. He would also gain the loyalty of warriors from every French-aligned tribe, as well as several trappers, hunters and scouts, providing the Brotherhood with a valuable force.

In March 1752, Kesegowaase taught Shay the finer points of hunting and how to craft holsters for his pistols, while also criticizing him for his tardiness. Kesegowaase would later meet with his fellow Assassins to discuss the Templars' progress on the Precursor box, noting that they had sought information about the artifact from many tribes. Around this time, Kesegowaase also reported that the Templar James Wardrop had evicted several tribes from their original homes.

In early 1756, Shay returned from Lisbon, having unintentionally caused an earthquake there while attempting to recover a Piece of Eden. Determined to keep the Assassins away from any Precursor sites, Shay stole the Precursor manuscript in Achilles' possession. With Shay being caught in the act, Kesegowaase and the other Assassins of the Davenport Homestead attempted to kill the former. Although Shay was eventually cornered, he jumped off a cliff, leading the Assassins to believe him dead.

The Assassins initially believed the manuscript lost, but learned that it was in the hands of the Templar George Monro. Seeking to take it back, Achilles sent Liam and Kesegowaase after Monro.

Siege of Fort William Henry
In August 1757, the French Army under Louis-Joseph de Montcalm and a large force of native warriors under Kesegowaase's command besieged Fort William Henry. After several days of bombardement, and no sight of reinforcements from William Johnson, the British garrison under the command of Monro surrendered to Montcalm. Thanks to the latter, the British were allowed to surrender while keeping their arms and colors. The natives did not understand the terms of the surrender. Exploiting this, Kesegowaase planned to ambush the British, kill Monro and take the manuscript back.

On the morning of 10 August, Kesegowaase and the native warriors under his command ambushed Monro's column. However, Shay, now a Templar ally, arrived to rescue Monro and the remainder of his men after being informed of the events by Jack Weeks. Surprised by Shay's survival, Kesegowaase ordered his men to attack the British soldiers. The column fought off the attackers, and continued onwards to Shay's ship, the Morrigan, while he scouted ahead eliminated the potential ambushers along the way. As the British boarded the ship, Kesegowaase and his men attempted to follow, but Weeks threw a powder keg at them, while Shay detonated it with a pistol shot. The explosion severely scarred Kesegowaase's face, and his men pulled him away.

Attack on Albany
After learning of Shay's survival and defection to the Templars, Achilles made him a target of the Brotherhood. Having failed to kill Shay and Monro at William Henry, Kesegowaase prepared to attack Albany. He sent his men to threaten the British-aligned Oneida village of Orenda in order to acquire an ancient set of native armor and deter them from further assisting the British. In anticipation of the attack, Shay managed to defeat the French troops attacking the British in the area and also liberated the Oneida village from Kesegowaase's men.

On 3 November, Kesegowaase and his men attacked Albany, plundering the town and attacking the nearby Fort Frederick. Shay arrived in time to defend the fort from the attacking Assassins, and instructed Monro to take the manuscript to the Morrigan while he defended Fort Frederick.
As Liam set off to assassinate Monro and retrieve the manuscript, Kesegowaase infiltrated the fort in order to distract Shay. Shay was able to mortally wound Kesegowaase with a Puckle gun, and after a brief struggle he held the Assassin up against a wall. In his dying words, Kesegowaase scolded Shay for having betrayed the Assassins, and told him that he was too late to save Monro, with Liam already on his way to kill him. As Kesegowaase died, an enraged Shay tried to rescue Monro, but true to the former's word, he was too late.
Personality and characteristics
Having grown up close to nature, Kesegwaase was a stoic individual, keeping a calm demanour at most times and rarely speaking much. Because of his Abenaki roots, Kesegowaase also held a deep respect for nature, reminding Shay not to waste hunting spoils.

However, Kesegowaase could also be cunning and ruthless. After the British had surrendered at Fort William Henry, Kesegowaase and his men ambushed and massacred them, breaking the terms of the surrender. Afterwards, he sent his men to hold an Oneida village hostage in order to dissuade the Oneida from supporting the British and also to acquire a set of ancient armor. During their attack on Albany, his men pillaged the town. Despite the brutality of Kesegowaase's actions, his fellow Assassins did not intervene, believing them necessary towards the completion of their goals.

Kesegowaase strongly believed in the Assassin cause, obeying Achilles without question. Upon learning of Shay's defection to the Templars, he was determined to kill him. Even in the face of death, Kesegowaase attempted to attack Shay, scolding him for his betrayal and mockingly insinuating Monro's imminent death.

Equipment and skills
Even before joining the Assassins, Kesegowaase was highly skilled in hunting and fishing, as well as other survival methods. He had also gained experience from working as a scout and mercenary for the French, and was a skilled freerunner, navigating the trees of North America with ease. He was also capable of performing the traditional Assassin's Leap of Faith.

Kesegowaase's Assassin outfit consisted of traditional Abenaki clothing, and he wore a buckskin leather hood and shawl adorned with feathers. He also wore leather boots and a red Assassin sash, as well as red face paint. Kesegowaase was equipped with at least one Hidden Blade, and was capable of various assassination techniques. In combat, he wielded a tomahawk and a pistol with great skill, making him a highly dangerous opponent.
Trivia
*Kesegowaase is an Algonquin name meaning "swift". Database entrys state that Liam O'Brien delivered letters to Kesegowaase from Achilles in 1738 this is unlikly as he would have only been eight years old at the time. This could mean he was born before 1730.
