Most discussions in life are pointless, so calm your bacon. That's the purpose of blogs and forums and what not... to discuss things, (and considering this is a video game community, it is ALL pointless)... TBH, the only truly pointless, irrelevant post was yours. Damn I hope ACi is back up soon; where the community can discuss things without spoil sports around. Just wearing the gear and knowing of the war doesn't make you one. It's the person. To me: Ezio became an Assassin in mission and thought when he was literally inducted. Edward became one when Mary died. that's when his mission (to me, as a consumer of his story) became that of an Assassin. Remember the Orders are only Ideologies. I believe, at Mary's death, that is when he truly in braced the ideology and wanted to fight for it. But like I say, Subjective

No... He was only on a quest for vengeance. He learnt about the Assassin/Templar; he wore their gear, doesn't make him one. Otherwise you would have to say Edward was one from the moment he met Torres. Ezio became the Assassin at that point. He wasn't trying to better the Assassin cause, he was trying to kill those responsible for killing his Brothers and Father. But, I guess it is subjective. And to me: Ezio became an assassin when he was inducted. Edward when Mary died. But... we are now way... way of topic from your original point, lol.

Atop the View point in ACII didn't make Ezio a Master Assassin. he became a Master Assassin after defeating Rodrigo and opening the Temple. That was merely his induction into the Order. Connor is (as far as we know) not a Master Assassin until sometime after ACIII (If the Connor outfit's description in BF is believed). After Achilles' death he would be one of the highest ranking members left, along with Robert Faulkner and a few of the MP guys (Such as William AKA the Huntsman). It is likely that Connor became a Master Assassin in recognition of his achievements of defeating first Haytham, then Charles, as well as rebuilding the foundations and central HQ of the American Assassins. I suspect we will get at least a mention of Connor and Aveline in ACU... maybe that can clear up when he became a Master Assassin.

Although speaking of induction, it is a rather funny point everyone moaning about Edward joining right near the end of the game... But Ezio, too, only became an official member towards the end... just a little thought.

Nope... But it does help to clear up the confusion in later replies. As to the OP... I don't think anyone can really... just a cock up, I think... it will either be explained eventually or it will be retconned with "Clay made a mistake" That seems to be the favourite retcon excuse anyway.

The Apple would not 'speak' (No First civ DNA I guess) to Cem so he hoped to work with the Italian Templars, understanding that they had knowledge of the PoEs. However, he, quite rightly, didn't trust the Borgia Family. Therefore he wished to introduce himself and claim their trust before presenting them with the Apple. So he took it to the Templar Archives in Cyprus to hide it. He then went to the Borgias. Who locked him up, and after awhile managed to 'convince' him to give up where he had hidden it. They went to Cyprus claimed the Apple, and the rest is covered in ACII and ACB. As for Altair, it is covered in ACR what he did with the Apple so shouldn't need explaining...
