Even though [[King Henry VII]] ruled England without losing any of his power, the [[Assassins]] feared that he might become corrupted by the [[Templars]] and decided to investigate. They discovered that the king had already killed two Templar conspirators that wanted to claim the throne, [[Lambert Simnel]] and [[Perkin Warbeck]], and that both of them had a co-conspirator: [[Margaret of York]].
The Assassins assured the king that Margaret would die a "natural" death soon and found it surprisingly easy to infiltrate her house and poison her belongings.<ref name="Project Legacy Contracts">[[Contracts in Project Legacy]]</ref>

After the death of Margaret, the other conspirators fled to smaller villages and started rallying the [[Civilians|civilians]] there to rise up against their king. The Assassins weren't interested in stopping the civilians, but they did not want the Templars to lead them, so they killed all but one. The only survivor shared valuable information with the Templars, and they discovered the uprising was just a distraction and that the Templars had invaded the Star Chamber, England's secret high court.<ref name="Project Legacy Contracts">[[Contracts in Project Legacy]]</ref>

They consulted with the king and asked if he knew anyone who he was suspicious off, but the king told them to cease the investigation. The Assassins then started bribing the court and heard some vague rumours, which eventually led them to a meeting between [[House of Borgia|Borgia]] ambassadors and members of the Star Chamber. The Assassins quickly dealt with them and reported to the king, who promised the Assassins a seat in the Star Chamber.<ref name="Project Legacy Contracts">[[Contracts in Project Legacy]]</ref>

In 1547, [[Mary I of England]] became queen, and soon it became clear that she was either a Templar, or closely allied with them. She wanted to restore England to Roman Catholicism, and in the process she had almost 300 religious dissenters burned at the stake. After Mary, her half-sister [[Elizabeth I of England]] became the queen and she undid the damage Mary I had caused to England.
