The '''Campagna district''' (English: Campaign District) was one of the four districts of [[Rome]]. This district was characterized by its farmlands and large settlements. During the early 1500s, the Campagna district, like the [[Centro district|Centro]] and [[Antico district|Antico]] districts, fell into disrepair under the influence of the [[House of Borgia]]. Four [[Borgia Tower]]s ruled over the Campagna district, each guarded by a [[Borgia Captains|Borgia Captain]]. By 1503, [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze|Ezio Auditore]] had burned down all of the Borgia Towers, as well as having reopened most of the shops and re-established the [[Mercenaries]] Guild and the [[Caserma di Alviano|Barracks]] for his fellow [[Assassins|Assassin]] [[Bartolomeo d'Alviano]], in order to aid him in his [[Skirmish in the Campagna district|war against the Borgia and their French allies]].<br />
