I think 47 got his centuries confused. Don't think he actually meant the 1600's but the 1700's.
I think what DanyD meant was what years do we play as Edward, like how we play as Ezio from his birth in 1459 to when he meets Minerva in 1499 (throughout AC2)

I was just throwing around ideas, you know, for the sake of example. It's not a feature I expect to see in the game. But if It was, it could give the people who either don't like the naval gameplay a way to get to different areas on the sea or people who dont feel like sailing all the way to the other side of the map without actually doing any of it.

Can you explore the Jackdaw? Like can you roam around the different decks of the ship and talk with the crew, maybe get some side missions/challenges from them or play games with them or go into the Cap's quarters and fast travel to anywhere on the sea by going to sleep or something like that.
