In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Cheats have been added to make gameplay more interesting. They are unlocked by getting 100% Synchronization for all of the memories in any given sequence. The cheats are only usable while replaying a memory.

To access a cheat, simply replay a memory then, once in that memory, press start. Go to the options menu and there will be a cheats access there. Turn the ones you want on and apply. It warns you that progress will not be saved whilst cheats are activated.

Warning: Cheats make gameplay significantly easier in most cases, but no progress will be saved while any cheat is active.
None of the memories in Sequence 1 have any optional conditions for completion. As such, this is the one cheat that is unlocked by progressing through the storyline as normal.
Calling Assassins still remains the same; no more than 6 Assassins can be called at one time. When an Assassin vanishes from the battle scene, the timer is instantly replenished.

Note
This is not an actual in-game cheat, but due to the method of unlocking, it has been classified as such. Contrary to popular belief, this does not make all Animus persona use the Desmond Skin.

Trivia
*The Cheats concept is similar to that of the Animus Hacks featured in Assassin's Creed II: Discovery, as well as the Upgrades for Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
*It is possible to ride a unicorn outside of a replay, even if the cheat is not available or active. This can be done by riding a unicorn with the cheat active, then returning to the current memory and calling for a horse with the Head button. By default, this summons the last horse (or unicorn) ridden.
*A rare bug occurs that activating either of the "Sisterhood" or "Ultimate Guild" or both of the cheats and then exiting replay will result in which it will be permanently activated outside replay or in the main game. If this occurs before at least 5 Recruits are at rank 10, it makes it impossible to aquire the "Raise 5 Assassins Recruits to Assassino Rank" Guild Challenge without having some of your Recruits killed, as the Assassins created by the glitch would not be registered by the Guild Challenge.
*When Ride the Unicorn is activated, weapons do not always glow. The hidden blade and throwing knives would never glow while the weapons that do must be directly taken from the weapon ring in order to.

Subjects are people who have been selected by Abstergo Industries for use in their experiments with genetic memory and the Animus. There are (or have been) at least seventeen Subjects, of which only 5 are ever mentioned in Assassin's Creed. It is clear Abstergo Industries does not treat subjects well and if no more valuable information can be obtained from a subject's memories, they are sometimes eliminated.

Known Subjects
Only subjects 4, 12, 15, 16, and 17 are ever mentioned in the game. Subjects 1 through 14 besides 4 and 12, as well as any that may exist after 17, are never shown and never seen.

Subject 4
In Subject 16's truth cluster 8, Subject 4 was mentioned in a letter dating back to September, 1985. meaning that animus experiments are much older than previously believed. In the letter, an unknown person going by W.V. (most likely Warren Vidic) reported making a prototype Piece of Eden replica and would use it on Subject 4 between his/her animus sessions. Subject 4's fate is unknown but he/she is most likely dead by now.

Subject 12
Subject 12 was the direct descendant of an individual involved in (or subjected to) the Philadelphia Experiment, a popular conspiracy theory where a naval vessel is alleged to have traveled forward in time for 18 minutes. The email claims that the Templars obtained sufficient information to reconstruct the device responsible, but will not continue with development due to concerns about the creation of irreparable time paradoxes.

Subject 15
Subject 15 was mentioned by Lucy to be female and pregnant. She suffered through the bleeding effect by seeing memories of her ancestors and other people from different time periods. She also experienced "memory-within-memory" patterns, due to being pregnant and the memories of the fetus's father conflicted with Subject 15's ancestors' memories.

Subject 16
Subject 16

Subject Sixteen was the predecessor to Desmond Miles in Abstergo's experiments. His name is unknown, but he is at one point referred to as "Micheal Neumann." He is only "seen" once, as an indistinct personification hidden within his Cluster puzzles.

It is known that, due to the "Bleeding effect", Subject 16 went mad and wrote the cryptic messages throughout the Animus room and his bedroom, using his own blood (supposedly dying afterwards). He may also have, in his madness, murdered Leila Marino and used her blood to write some of the cryptic

messages as it is even stated by Subject 16 himself that if he would have written all of the messages with his own blood, he would have died before he finished.

However, when you finish the ten Rifts, he appears as an hologram and reveals that he is still alive. Theachievement/trophy for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood titled ".. .- -- .- .-.. .. ...- ." (morse code) translates to "I AM ALIVE." This achievement/trophy is earned by solving all of Subject 16's puzzles.

Subject 17 (Desmond Miles)
Desmond Miles

Desmond Miles is the true protagonist of Assassin's Creed, and the successor of Subject 16.

Brought to Abstergo against his will, he was threatened with a coma and death if he did not participate in the Animus project. Giving in to the threat, he entered the Animus. He was made to recreate the actions of his ancestor Altaïr, in order to find the location of the Piece of Eden. Like Subject 16 before him, Desmond experiences the Bleeding effect. However, he only experiences a relatively minor change- the ability to use Eagle Vision like his ancestor. This is probably due to Lucy urging him to take breaks from the Animus. In Assassin's Creed II though he gains all of Ezio's skills. In Assassin's Creed Abstergo were about to kill him until Lucy suggested that he can still be useful for finding more Pieces of Eden.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
It has been noticed in the multiplayer walkthrough video that the players in the game are referred to as "Subjects" e.g. "Subject 6 killed Subject 2". This was replaced with player's Gamertags or PSN names when Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was released.

Warren Vidic is a member of the Knights Templar and scientist, employed by Abstergo Industries in the early 21st Century; he is also the head of research for the genetic memory and Animus projects.

Biography
Early Life
Almost nothing is known about Warren's life except for what is mentioned in his e-mail in Subject 16's eighth Truth Cluster, he wrote a letter to an unknown person called S. about making a prototype P.O.E. and would use it on Subject 4 inbetween his animus sessions. The letter was dated September, 1985 meaning Warren has worked with Abstergo for at least 27 years.

Subject Seventeen
In the year 2012, Warren Vidic holds the position of head of genetic research at Abstergo Industries; part of his role including looking after test subjects for his Animus project. That year, he authorised the capture of the seventeenth test subject; a bartender named Desmond Miles. At first, Vidic found the new test subject both unwilling and, subconsciously, not confident enough to explore his ancestor's memories. After making it clear to Desmond that failure to cooperate would entail a medically-induced coma and abandonment to die once finished, Vidic managed to gain his cooperation.

Despite Desmond's cooperation, however, progress was slow. Vidic's assistant, Lucy Stillman, was overly protective of Desmond's health, and insisted on only short stints within the Animus, lest their latest test subject begin to hallucinate as the previous one did. Disheartened but compliant, Vidic ordered Desmond to his quarters and left the laboratory. The next day, Desmond awoke to Vidic standing over him, eager to progress with the days work. More cheerful, Vidic humored Desmond's curiosity and willingly answered some of his questions, but eventually insisted on him re-entering the Animus.

As the week went on, and Desmond made progress within the Animus, Vidic's mood swung between calm and collected to irritable and short-tempered. During one such day, whilst looking out over the skyline outside his laboratory, Vidic unknowingly left his access pen in plain sight; Desmond managed to acquire it without Vidic becoming aware. Towards the end of the week, as Desmond began to approach the conclusion of his journey within the memories, Vidic started to become much more insistent on a quick closure.

After witnessing the death of Al Mualim and activation of the Piece of Eden in Desmond's genetic memories, Vidic recorded the map displayed within the memory, commenting "We've got it". As Desmond awoke, he saw three suited individuals in the laboratory's conference room. The three begun discussing with Vidic the results, and insisted upon Desmond's "retirement"; Vidic agreed, but was cut short by Lucy, who insisted that Desmond's use had not yet ended. The two argued to the point of Vidic claiming that Lucy was undermining his authority, and Vidic stubbornly agreed in Lucy's assessment to let Desmond live; to "leave nothing to chance". Ordering Desmond back into his room, the Doctor left the laboratory.

After the escape
The next day, Vidic received word of Desmond's escape, and the assistance Lucy had given him in executing it. The Templar quickly set about tracking down the Assassins, and within two days had accomplished his goal and set about capturing the two. He also appears in Assassin's creed brotherhood's multiplayer. He appears talking to future Abstergo agents.

Locating the hideout, Vidic took a contingent of Abstergo security guards to apprehend Desmond and Lucy, arriving just as Desmond finished exploring the memories of another of his ancestors – Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Cutting off the Assassins' escape, Vidic attempted to coerce Desmond into coming peacefully whilst berating Lucy for her apparent betrayal. The two rejected him, and so Vidic ordered his guards to apprehend them. Minutes later, following the death or incapacitation of his entourage, Vidic was confronted by Desmond at the rear of his vehicle. Commenting that the Assassins should enjoy their temporary victory, he fled, leaving the Assassins to escape to a cabin northwards.

After that, his job was and is to train the companies loyal subject into more "subjects" like Desmond.

Personality and characteristics
Dr. Warren Vidic was a hardened scientist and fanatical member of the Knights Templar during the early 21st Century. Although an intelligent man, Vidic was somewhat forgetful, and would often need reminding of passcodes and the likes; he also tended to leave his access key on display, and had on more than one occasion lost it outright.

An atheist, Vidic believed wholeheartedly in the non-existence of God, suggesting that many religious artifacts such as the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant and the Apple of Eden were simply technology left behind by Those Who Came Before as gifts to the Templars; a belief which he knew to be fact. Ruthless, yet clumsy, Vidic had a short temper and showed little care for the welfare of his test subjects.

On at least one occasion, as in the case of Subject 16, Vidic's insistence that his test subject remain in the Animus for dangerously long periods of time, sometimes even whole days, led to the subject's suicide. Despite this, Vidic was unfazed, merely requesting another test subject. This seventeenth test subject – Desmond Miles – eventually succeeded where his predecessors had failed, and obtained the map indicating the location of the Pieces of Eden. This success, however, did little to ingratiate him in the eyes of Dr. Vidic, who agreed with the assessment of his superiors that Desmond should be executed. His mind only changed after being convinced by his assistant, Lucy Stillman, that Desmond could still be of further use.

Warren's relationship with Lucy was frosty at best. Despite saving her life and taking her under his wing, Warren seemed to barely tolerate her presence, and found her insistence on prolonging the project irritating. Despite this however, he did care for Lucy, and would withhold information from her that he knew would force his hand had she known; such as the circumstances surrounding the death of her friend Leila Marino. Following her and Desmond's escape, Vidic located and intercepted the two assassins as they attempted to flee their hideout; he commented on her treachery and how she had helped him cause pain and misery to his test subjects.

Trivia
*His first name means "Guarded" or "Of la Varenne" (La Varenne is a suburb of Paris, indicating this is where he may have come from) in Old English.
*Although his last name Vidic is a common Serbian surname (Serbian latinic: Vidić, pronounced: ˈʋiditɕ) and roughly translates to "the one who sees" or "of those who see", it was never stated that he is Serbian.
*Warren's face seems a lot more detailed in "Assassin's Creed" than "Assassin's Creed II". The reason behind this could be that he has a minor appearence in Assassin's Creed II and the developers just implemented Warren's key features to save time.
*Desmond taking Warren's access pen is (so far) the only example of pickpocketing shown in modern times. Whether this is a manifestation of the Bleeding effect or Desmond is simply skilled at picking someone's pocket is unknown.
*Vidic owns a Lamborghini and another sports car, as seen in the garage where Desmond and Lucy fight off the Abstergo Guards.
*In Assassin's Creed Brotherhood multiplayer, Vidic's voice is used in the training program, where he explains how to play.
*When paying attention to the Clusters in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood's The Truth, some initials in messages are W.V..
