In 1348, the Plague crossed [[Essen]], a town in Germany, and wiped out half of its population. Soon after this, a group called the [[Brothers of the Cross]] arrived. The [[Assassins|Assassin]] [[Lukas Zurburg]] soon found out they were a [[Templars|Templar]] organization that offered protection from the plague, and he also suspected that they were after the [[Ankh]], an artifact that was said to be located in central Europe. Soon after that, Elector [[Frederick III, Elector of Saxony|Friedrich der Weise]] decided to found a school that would question the practices of the [[House of Borgia|Borgia]], though they prepared a bribe to prevent him from doing so.<ref name="PL Contracts"/>

However, the Assassins intercepted the carriage that was to deliver the bribe, and made the Borgia believe that the money had been stolen by bandits. From there, they then used the money to make an anonymous donation to the school.<ref name="PL Contracts"/>

Through his associates, Hitler came into possession of a [[Pieces of Eden|Piece of Eden]], and during the war, he was supposed to use it to make a clone of himself that was to be left in the bunker. However, the real Adolf Hitler was assassinated and his Piece of Eden disappeared.<ref name="AC2 - Glyphs"/>

During the start of Assassin's Creed Syndicate, there is an Abstergo logo on Berlin. This logo was on Paris (Assassin's Creed Unity) and London (Assassin's Creed Syndicate) as well. This suggests that the new Assassin's Creed, which will be released in 2016, will take place in the capital of Germany. This could be World War I, but more likely World War II.
