Given how they say it's gonna be pure singleplayer game, I don't see the need for an App, or other interconnective crap. They've learned that people are fed up with paywalls and other walls that block progress and can't be removed by just playing the game itself.

But then again, this is Ubisoft, and they're still going with Unity's way of handling the modern day "story".
