The '''Doctor''' (real name: '''Malfatto''') is a multiplayer character in ''[[Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood]]'', who uses a [[syringe]] as his primary weapon.

His outfit highly resembles the ones worn by doctors during the plague, and appears black in the dark. His face is concealed by a mask, therefore making his true identity unknown. His outfit is different from what the doctors wear in ''[[Assassin's Creed II]]'', most noticeably due to the shorter beak of his mask.

[[Ubisoft]] has said that he will make an appearance in the single player mode of [[Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood|''Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood'']] along with the other multiplayer characters.

He appeared in [[Project Legacy]] where it is revealed he is in the employ of Cesare Borgia and is known to terrorize women. [[Fiora Cavazza]] called him a "monster". He drugged her (or poisoned her and tried to kill her) even after she gave him Cesare's document. However, she was able to defend herself, cutting him badly.

He was assasinated by a member of the Brotherhood of Assassins under [[Ezio Auditore]]'s orders after the assassin discovered the doctor's peculiar habits.

The Doctor charges at his target from behind and swiftly thrusts his [[syringe]] into the target's shoulder, injecting [[poison]] into their system. Before the victim can realize what has happened, they collapse to the ground and die silently. The Doctor can also perform a similar move from the front of the victim, where he thrusts the syringe into the victim's neck.

===The Eye Stab===
The Doctor charges and jumps onto his target, injecting the syringe into their eye and causing death.

*Malfatto is an Italian surname that may derive from the Italian word ''malfattore'' or "someone who does evil deeds."

As ''[[Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood]]'' is the first major installment in the [[Assassin's Creed Series|series]] to feature a multiplayer layer there are many multiplayer characters that are playable. It has now been confirmed by [[Ubisoft]] that there is a total of 17 multiplayer characters in the Codex Version of the game (including the Harlequin and the Officer). Most of the characters will also be present as targets for [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze|Ezio]] to kill in the singleplayer (whether this is in the main missions or side missions is unknown). At this current moment in time all 17 multiplayer character have 4 different variations to their costumes(gear) as well as the option to change the colour of them, although it is unknown is characters will have more than this when the game is released.

The '''Captain''' (real name presumed to be '''Donato Mancini''') previously known as The Soldier is a multiplayer character in ''[[Assassin's Creed Brotherhood]]''. The [[Captains Swords|captains swords]] consist of a short sword and a dagger.

Donato was known as the greatest rider in all of Cesare's army, a title Cesare envied. 
So Cesare ordered Fiora Cavazza to make Donato lose a race with him, through bribery or violence. He was offered an ornate suit of armor and many other gifts but he refused to back down steadfastly preaching that the winner is the winner. 
Despite their many attempts to stop his victory he emerged victorious making Cesare furious. He ordered Donato beaten and he was, brutally.

He was a man of honor which Fiora Cavazza respected.

He had been watching the progress of the Abstergo recruits who were put in the DDS, observing the bulk memory dumps taken from them in the pretense of creating an extensive network of historical data. The true purpose of this project was only known to Abstergo and Erudito himself.

Erudito has shown his advanced capabilities, in that he is able to easily hack into the DDS to leave messages and unlock previously blocked memories. He also communicates with the Abstergo recruits through e-mail, sharing secret information about the true purpose of the project they are participating in.
