'''The Forum of Arcadius''' (Latin: ''Forum Arcadii''), was built by the Emperor Arcadius in the city of [[Constantinople]].

==History==
Built in 403, it was built in the in the Xerolophos area and was the last forum before reaching the Constantinian city walls and the Golden Gate in a line of forums, including the Forum of Theodosius, the Forum of Constantine, Forum of the Ox, and the Forum Amastrianum, built westward from the city center along the Mese (Constantinople main street).

The Column of Arcadius, located in the center of the forum, was decorated with spiral bands of sculpture in bas relief representing the triumphs of the emperor, like Trajan's Column in Rome. At the top of the column, which was more than 50m high, there was an equestrian statue of Arcadius.

The forum was later converted to a bazaar by the Ottomans, which was used for the auctioning of female slaves.

==History==
The Forum of the Ox was located on the Mese thoroughfare between the Forum of Arcadius and Taurian (or Theodosian) Forum, about 2 km from the [[Hagia Sophia]].
The Forum was named after its central monument, a large antique bronze furnace in the shape of an ox's head taken from Pergamum.

Hardly anything is left from this forum. The Forum of the Ox was situated on the site of the present Aksaray Square.

During the early 1500s, the valley was used by [[Cesare Borgia]] to produce large numbers of [[Flying Machine]]s designed by [[Leonardo da Vinci]]. These machines were each equipped with a single cannon and were intended for use in Cesare's conquest of Italy.<ref name="acBrotherhood"/>

The production facilities were destroyed by the [[Assassin]] [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]], who stole one of the bombers and used them to destroy the factories.
