'''World War II''', or the '''Second World War''', was a global military conflict lasting from 1 September 1939 to 2 September 1945. This war involved most of the world's nations, including all of the great powers that eventually formed two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis.

==History==
World War II was the most widespread war in history, with more than 100 million military personnel mobilized. In a state of "total war," the major participants placed their entire economic, industrial, militaristic, and scientific capabilities towards the service of the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources.

Marked by significant events involving the mass death of civilians, including the Holocaust and the only use of nuclear weapons in warfare to date, it was the deadliest conflict in human history, resulting in 50 million to over 70 million fatalities.

The war began on 1 September 1939, with the [[Germany|German]] invasion of Poland, Slovakia, and the [[Russia|Soviet Union]] (17 days later) and with the subsequent declarations of war on Germany by [[France]] and most of the countries of the [[United Kingdom|British Empire]] and Commonwealth.

The war ended with the total victory of the Allies over Germany and [[Japan]]. Germany surrendered 8 May 1945 after the fall of Berlin and collapse of German battle lines. In early August 1945, the [[United States]] dropped nuclear bombs on Japan, one on Hiroshima and another on Nagasaki. Japan surrendered unconditionally on 2 September 1945.

==Templar influence==
The [[Templars]] began the war in an effort to form a [[New World Order|new world government]]. [[Emporer Hirohito]] [[Benito Mussolini]] and [[Adolf Hitler]] were the world leaders confirmed as Templar puppets. The original plan for the war was a victory by the axis powers who would obey their Templar masters, however the allied victory over them saw an end to the plan. Once the war was over the remaining Templars saw opportunity in the East and quickly won-over Stalin who had previously not sided with the Templars or the Assassins. Churchill and Roosevelt then made a secret pact in 1944 detailing the US's and UK's support for the Assassins despite their scepticism about the organisation towards the beginning of the war. The Templars previously thought that the war could be one after they had a non aggression pact between Germany and Russia signed, however this plan quickly failed after Hitler went ahead and attacked anyway. They also tried to sway the US to their side but realised the US were too friendly towards Britain and launched the attack on Pearl Harbour. Once Churchill was voted out after the war and Roosevelt died to be replaced with Harry Truman both leaders continued their support for the Assassins and even managed to make Hirohito become aligned with the assassins in a secret part of the peace deal with Japan. Despite their reluctance the assassins gave the Americans the go ahead to drop a nuclear warhead in an attempt to end the war sooner.

There is debate as to what happened to the Apples of Eden however it is believed that the Russians looted it from Hitler's bunker and the allies received it from Japan in secrecy as part of their surrender.
