1. Yeah. Suprise! It's something that's missing in moders games because ad campaigns give everything away.

2. It's not needed the same way the whole Xehanort story is not needed in Kingdom Hearts. It could be just about Disney and FF characters having random adventures with random villains.

3. Who told you the original plan was not to have the Animus? They came up with it doring early discussions about what this new franchise would be all about.

4. The Animus IS the focus. The lack of focus IS the focus. We're supposed to explore all of those lives and learn their secrets. And if you played all main series games you should have no problems with understanding first Civ. I recently replayed all AC games and there's a TON of foreshadowing about Juno. And the ending wasn't awful. It may have been a bit too abrupt but that's how every ending in AC works.

5. But that's just it! Such a contrast is the whole idea of AC. As I said - you don't like it - FINE. But don't act like a smartass and don't talk big like your simpler premise in superior.

The Animus "bits" have been there since day 1. When you play an AC game you see them on every step - the hud, the boundaries, pause menu, the database - it's all there. Animus is an amazing storytelling device which allows for perfectly raesonable expainations for all those "video game-y" elements.

People say the sereis should "focus more on the whole conflict between Assassins and Templars as it unfolds through History." Truth be told... it already does! The Animus is a link that connects all those storylines into one. It gives us purpose, it leads us somewhere. Without it we would be lost. There wouldn't be a proper overarching plot, we would pretty much get another Final Fantasy. Such a story must lead somewhere. And what is the ending for history? Now! Today, the present. At one point it would have to go there, there's no way around it.

As for the TWCB story... look, you may not like it but don't act like they could just drop it off and never put it in AC2. Not after all of that foreshadowing in AC1. Nuh-uh.

The same goes for 2012. The whole idea of AC is REliving lives of ancestors. It's the concept of the entire series. That's what it is all about. It's not breaking immersion, it IS immersion. That's it - the whole deal. If you want just a history game... sorry, that's not going to happen in AC. They're not going to drop the premise just like that. You don't like it? FINE! But never, and I mean never, act like you know what should be scrapped. 

I myslef just adore storylines that mix 2 things that you would think would not work well togeter - Assassin's Creed, The Longest Journey - you name it.

I personally think classic adventure games deserve more attention than those streamlined interactive movies. Even if they have a good story.

In a world of poorly crafted, disappointing video game franchises, the incredible quality of the AC series shines brightly. While I still think that ACII is the best game of the series, Revelations does not disappoint in the slightest. I feel that if a studio has a narrative structure that works, game play mechanics that satisfy, an appealing aesthetic and a decent combat system, then the studio should use what works to tell the story. That is exactly what Ubisoft has done.

What I meant is that they were corrupted. Templars no longer cared about the good of humanity, now it was all about personal gain.

Heck, ACR Abstergo Files - LibidoDominandi - explain this situation perfectly. It also shows that modern Templars are reallly ashamed of those times. I'm really hoping that this was writers' intention from the beggining... or the other guys had to clean up the mess that Corey May left behind. I'm REALLY hoping it's the first one.

And yeah, Savonarola and Massimo were not Templars. They were so called "greater men in the shadow of the Cross". "They became what we (Templars) should have aspired to be".

I don't really know much about Templars outside of Italy and Turkey of that era. Was there anything interesting about them in AC2 Discovery?

3. What is this extra mission splitting crap, do you really expect me to buy at least two different editions? Oh well, I guess they'll release a DLC somewhere next year that will have all the extras in it. It's almost a tradition now.

4. We already had naval combat - in Brotherhood. Of course it wasn't as developed as this but it was there nontheless.

5. I hope they will explain that Eve stuff. Ok, I can buy that Desmond didn't remember that in ACR because his mind was fragmented. He didn't even knew that he killed Lucy at first.

6. Perhaps new combat will allow for crazier actions in Modern times. The batte of AC2 end credits was fine and all but I want more! I want the Cross! Daniel Cross!

7. It's nice that Templars will come back to their routes. And, to be honest, it was kind of ironic that their darkest times were during the most prosperous era for humanity. That's... pretty sad. Savonarola, Massimo and Ahmet were also interesting characters but it's time for the Order to rise again.
