<div>The '''Viana Castle''' was a large fortified Castel in [[Viana]], Kingdom of Navarre (Coquered by Spain in 1512), held by Louis de Beaumont. It was besieged by [[Cesare Borgia]] and King John's army of 10,000 men in 1507. The Castel was an extremely strong natural fortification and essentially impenetrable at the time. As a result, Cesare besieged the Castel to weaken the forces inside, counting on a desperate surprise attack.<br />
