::Should probably point out that ships are never entitled "The xxx" unless the "The" is a part of the name. For example: "Jack Smith was on ''Titanic'' when it sunk." Considering there's an article naming Edward as a Welshman, it might be pertinent that in Welsh folk lore, jackdaws are considered sacred (nesting in church steeples keeping it safe from the devil).
